Day 55 May 31 to Cornelius Shelter

Woke up to a foggy morning. After a breakfast of nature Valley breakfast buscuits with real blueberries I set off up the hill.  The trail quickly rejoined the Blue Mountain Parkway.

No views this morning because of the fog.

I saw more salamanders. 

The trail, while full of UDs was not rocky and I covered the first 8 miles quickly. There we're beautiful forest along the way.  

I saw new wildflowers

I lunched at one of the biggest and nicest shelter on the A.T.

The last five miles was a 2000 foot climb that took over two hours.

Spent the night in Cornelius shelter
