Day 11 Panther Creek Gap to Cold Spring Shelter

A beautiful day! The great thing about camping on gaps with east-west views is you get both sunset and sunrise.  This morning was worth yesterday's end-of-day climb.  But it was a cold morning.  Inside the tent jitneys 33F.  Outside it was below freezing.

Today saw two climbs to over 5000ft.  The first was to Wayah Tower, a monument to a forester of the region.

The view was great.

Then the nearly 1000ft climb from Burningtown Gap to Cold Spring Shelter. At the end of the day.  'Nuff said.
